For almost three years, I have been waiting for this album.
There’s something magical about Mumford and Sons. Their music makes me warm and fuzzy; calm and filled with comfort.
So this morning, as soon as my alarm went off, I logged into iTunes and downloaded the magic that came out today.
This album will be on repeat for the next 12ish months.
I recommend you check them out.
I love Florence and the Machine. Her voice is so soulful and pure, and the sound they create is nothing short of amazing. Listen and repeat.
In my life, I’ve never been able to relate to music like I have with Third Eye Blind. I can waltz through the most beautiful and ugly parts of life with my own personal soundtrack as though Stephan Jenkins wrote the words specifically for me.
I’ve been listening to 3EB a lot lately in preparation for their new album coming out in August. It’s not that I’ve forgotten how much I love them, but I think having them on repeat has made me feel how much I love them again. It’s the songs that you’ve probably never heard, like, “I Want You,” “Slow Motion,” “Motorcycle Drive By,” “Why Can’t You Be,” “Red Star,” “Wounded,” and “God of Wine,” that literally have the ability to take my breath away.
Listen and enjoy.
My friend and former roommate told me about the band Kings of Leon 3 years ago. They were playing at Stubbs in Austin and my roommate Jorge encouraged me to go to the show because they “are awesome.” I just couldn’t get into it at the time, and I’m not afraid to admit that it was my extreme bad. I could have been on the Leon train 3 years ago, but have just now fallen in love with them.
If you like music – listen to them. They’ll give your soul something to smile about.
Is anyone else annoyed by Lady Gaga? While I will admit that I do sing along to her stupid song “Just Dance,” I pretty much can’t stand the rest of her. Her voice reminds me of a combination of Christina Aguilera and Gwen Stefani. There is all of this hype around her but really I think she’s a joke. She looks like she’s on crack, I have no idea what her style means, and I think she’s trying too hard. I don’t think there is anything about her that we haven’t seen before except for that god awful bow of hair she has been wearing around the world. I kind of feel like she’s a fad who is going to fade out shortly. Bleh.
I hate it when I blog about people that I can’t stand. In retrospect I always feel like a tool for wasting my time and energy talking about things and people who remind me of nails on a chalkboard. Oh well.
