Oh, hi world! We’re back! We had an awesome Memorial Day and great trip to DC, but are very happy to be home in North Carolina.
Our weekend was jam packed with visiting friends and family, and a pretty awesome event.
We went to the Air & Space Museum at Dulles:
We played with baby James:
We had a lot of good, quality time with some super fantastic people, including Chris’ BFF, Scott, his other BFF, Tim, and Tim’s wife, Christine. We also got to spend the day with Chris’ sister and her husband. There’s something about being with these people. They let me be myself, they make me feel calm and happy, and more importantly, they make me laugh. I live for those moments of just dying of belly laughter. I love them so much and we are so lucky to have people like them in our lives.
After a weekend of fun, we made our way into Arlington on Monday to attend the wreath laying at Arlington National Cemetary in honor of Memorial Day. Like last year, it was an amazing experience. My uncle hosted the event which meant that he escorted President Obama, while my aunt escorted the first lady. Does it get any more awesome?
I can’t tell you how much I love going to these events. Whether it’s my uncle Mike’s change of command, laying wreaths at Arlington around Christmas, or the holiday concert put on by the United States Army Band, I am just so proud. I feel so honored to have these opportunities to pay tribute to those who sacrifice so much for our freedom. It’s pretty incredible.
Hope you all had a fantastic holiday weekend!
