Holy hell, we made it.
After months of weekend trips, sporting events and weddings, we’re finally DONE with our travels for the summer. We’ve been to the beach at least 7 times, visited my family in North Carolina, did two weddings in Pennsylvania, went to a bunch of Nats games and a Nascar race, in addition to countless other things. It seems like our last relaxed weekend was months ago and in all honestly, it literally was.
I’ve been sick lately with some kind of funk that I can’t escape which has kind of put a gray cloud over the past 2 weeks, but I’m getting better, so that’s good. It has sucked, but progress is progress, even if it’s slow.
We luckily have a fairly low key next few months coming up. Chris’ birthday is this week, so I’m looking forward to that, and then we’re going to New York for Thanksgiving, so that’s our next trip. As an employee in the hotel industry, I was able to get a free hotel room to go to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, so we’ll take the bus up there for $35 and spend two free nights up there for the parade. Should be a good time.
It seems like this year has flown by so quickly. Chris and I were talking as we drove home from Philadelphia today and we’ve just done so much in our first year together (it will be 1 year next month). Time flies when you’re having fun! I’m just glad we get some downtime now!
