Project Come to Life

My Monday has been a day that has left me feeling like I just just completed the spin cycle and then got punched in the stomach.  Yuck!  Not a great way to start off the week.  At all.

Tuesday is big, though so I need to move on.

Our department is responsible for employee relations and benefits, so tomorrow, we’re hosting our annual benefit fair.  Myself and another girl have been planning the entire thing for our over 600 employees, and it’s been an adventure to say the least.  We’ve had to secure space, coordinate food and beverages with our kitchen, communicate with our employees, setup computers, work with over 20 outside vendors, create a fundraiser for Make-A-Wish as well as secure tons of raffle prizes.  I’m actually pretty anxious to get the whole thing over with.  I’m excited to see it come to life, but I’m ready for it to be over at the same time.

The purpose of the benefit fair is to provide our employees with different services that are beneficial to them, as well as educate them about their health benefits, retirement, etc…We’ve gone so far as to have a healthy cooking demo and yoga demonstrations in addition to bringing in all of the outside vendors.

It’s been a ton of work and I really hope we have a good turnout.  We have a lot of contests and prizes which usually draws a good amount of people, AND we’ve put out a ton of communication,  so I’m optimistic.

Positive thoughts!
