Marie Claire

I was reading in Marie Claire magazine this comparison they did on American women v. French women.  Blah, blah, blah.  They went on to quote some French women on how they were different than American’s…but all I heard was judgment and criticism on their part.  Some quotes:

“American’s transform themselves with makeup; we’re more traditional.”

“I’m more natural than American women, with their silicone and peroxide.”

“We know that beauty can come from within.”

“American women love fake lashes, big breasts, glossy lips and fake tans.”

Is this how the women in our country are really perceived?  Like we’re all clones of Pamela Anderson and Jenna Jameson?  I’m downright disgusted that this is the perception of our country.  I think that every country has their group of women who fit that category, but I don’t think it qualifies as the majority of the population.

It just really bothers me that we’re viewed as superficial and fake…that we are all materialistic and that Hollywood is the face of our women.
